I just started shooting a new series of 12 images that focus on the moon and how it relates visually to water. This first photo is a 10-second long exposure showing the moon creating a line in the sky while painting a reflection on the water, as the boat turns. I’ll be photographing during the next 11 full moons to complete the series.
A favorite page among Outside magazine readers, the “Parting Shot” is always a somewhat comical scene from the outside world. The image shows “Kona” (Border Collie) shaking off after a serious ball-fetching session at Lucy Vincent Beach on Martha’s Vineyard. Yes, I got some sand and salt-water spray all over the camera, but it was well worth it. Currently on newsstands in the August 08 issue.
My image of the famous J Class Yacht Endeavour is being displayed in advertising by Fan Pier for use on the web and on billboards throughout Boston, MA. (pictured here on 93 South). It’s always fun to see your work printed big, and this is a new level of big for all of us to check out while sitting in traffic and wishing we were sailing instead.
